リージェンシー時代に作られたライブラリードラムテーブル
私の拠点であるバーリーハウスから車で1時間ほど離れた場所のマナーハウスのオーナーからの修復依頼で現地へ家具を見に行きました。19世紀初頭にそのマナーハウスのために作られたライブラリードラムテーブルでトップにはられたオリジナルの革の保存よりの修復依頼。日光の光と使用によって色褪せ、カップや花瓶などを置いた際に濡れた跡があります。工房に持ち帰りサイドの色褪せた木の部分の塗装のし直し、革の修復をおこないました。
Regency library drum table
We received a request for restoration from the owner of a manor house located about an hour's drive from Burghley House, and traveled to the site to view the furniture. This library drum table, originally built for the manor house in the early 19th century, was restored with the aim of preserving the original leather top. It had faded from sunlight and use, and there were wet marks from placing cups and vases on it. We brought it back to our workshop, repolished the faded wood on the sides, and restored the leather.
