破損したガラスケースとビンテージ模型の船
イギリス在住の男性が、オーストラリアのオークションで20世紀初頭から中期頃の帆船模型を落札しました。しかし到着後に確認したところ、ケースのガラスが割れ、その破片が内部に飛散して艤装（リギング）を損傷させていました。
保険を適用しての修復となり、まずは前面と左側面のガラス片を慎重に取り除きました。この模型は専門の職人による製作ではなかったため、ガラスが木のフレームに直接強力に接着されており、取り外し作業は非常に困難を極めました。
全ての破片を清掃したあと、破損した艤装を修復。最後に、サイズに合わせて新しくカットしたガラスを元通りに接着し、無事に修復が完了しました。
Broken glass case and vintage model ship
A English gentleman won a model sailing ship from the early to mid-20th century at an auction in Australia. However, upon arrival, he discovered that the glass in the case had broken, sending fragments flying inside and damaging the rigging.
Repairs were carried out under insurance coverage, and the first step was to carefully remove the glass fragments from the front and left side. As this model was not made by a professional craftsman, the glass was firmly glued directly to the wooden frame, making removal extremely difficult.
After cleaning up all the debris, the damaged rigging was restored. Finally, new glass cut to size was glued back in place, completing the restoration.
