19世紀マーケトリー英国製ライティングボックス
19世紀のイギリスで作られたライティングボックス。長い間に紫外線によって受けたダメージと汚れで表面の美しいマーケトリー装飾や木目がよく見えなくなっていました。表面の塗装を剥離し、埋め込まれた真鍮やマザーオブパール（白蝶貝）が浮いてきている場所を膠で接着し直し、クリーニング、そしてフレンチポリッシュで塗装し、最後にビーズワックスで仕上げました。
職人が時間をかけて丁寧に作ったマーケトリー装飾と綺麗な木目が見えるようになりました。
19th Century Marquetry English Writing Box
This lighting box was made in England in the 19th century. Damage and dirt caused by ultraviolet lights over a long period of time had obscured the beautiful marquetry and wood grain on the surface. The old polish was stripped, and any areas where the embedded brass and mother-of-pearl had become loose were re-attached with fish glue, cleaned, and painted with French polish, before being finished with beeswax.
The marquetry and beautiful wood grain, which the artisan had carefully crafted over time, are now visible.
